HYDGEN has raised $5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Transition VC, with participation from Cloudberry Pioneer Investments, Moringa Ventures, and strategic family offices from India & Singapore.
Founded by Manippady Krishna Kumar, Goutam Kumar Dalapati, and Michael Gryseels in 2024, based in Mangaluru, India (and Singapore), HYDGEN is building on-site green hydrogen solutions for industry.
Their proprietary Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyser systems enable industrial users to generate ultra-pure hydrogen where it’s needed, moving beyond traditional hydrogen supply chains.
The fresh capital will be used to upgrade HYDGEN’s manufacturing facility (to a semi-automated production line), scale its stack output to 250 kW, and expand commercial operations into Japan, Europe, and the Middle East.
- Their modular AEM electrolyser range spans from 1 kW to 100 kW, with a 250 kW single-stack model under development, already being piloted across India, Singapore & Southeast Asia.
- Their technology combines the cost advantages of alkaline electrolysis with the performance of PEM (proton exchange membrane) systems, while eliminating the need for platinum-group catalysts, making on-site hydrogen generation more cost-effective and scalable.
