LoanTap, founded in 2016 by Satyam Kumar and Vikas Kumar, has raised ₹74 Cr in a pre-Series C round, including ₹54 Cr in equity led by July Ventures and participation from 3one4 Capital, Avaana Capital, Kae Capital, and long-time backer Swapurna Family Office.
An additional ₹20 Cr in venture debt was raised to expand supply chain financing for India’s underserved small retailers.
LoanTap has cemented its category leadership in distributor-led supply chain financing, serving critical segments like grocery and pharmacy retail. With India’s MSME credit gap estimated at ₹33.2 lakh crore, the opportunity is vast and underpenetrated.
Powered by its proprietary credit engine BICRI (Business Indicator for Credit Ratings in India), LoanTap enables real-time risk assessment and facilitates invoice financing for small businesses at scale. Over the last 24 months, the platform has acquired 50,000+ retailers, financed 4.5 lakh invoices, and disbursed more than ₹1,000 Cr in working capital.
Now targeting 2 lakh retailers and 1 million invoices in the next 12 months with average ticket sizes of ₹8,000 to ₹15,000, LoanTap is building digital rails for MSME credit enablement at the ground level.
