Megaliter Varunaa has raised ₹15 crore in a Seed funding round led by long-term institutional investors
Founded by Vishal Murarka and Namita Banka in 2022, and headquartered in Hyderabad, India, Megaliter Varunaa is building a “zero-capex, subscription-based” model that transforms sewage treatment plants into circular water utilities.
The platform handles operations, compliance and financials, enabling reuse of wastewater for non-potable applications like flushing, gardening and cooling.
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate their technology innovation, expand project development across major metros and scale their water-circular model.
- Treated over 3 billion litres of wastewater to date; targeting recycling of more than 10 billion litres annually in the next 12 months.
- Positioning themselves as a “wastewater utility” rather than just a treatment provider, offering compliance + operations + circular-water output under one contract.
