Netgear, the US-based networking solutions company, has acquired Exium, a Bengaluru-headquartered cybersecurity startup, to deliver integrated networking and security solutions tailored for managed service providers (MSPs) and small to mid-sized enterprises.
Exium, founded and led by Farooq Khan, provides a SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) platform already adopted by multiple Indian institutions. Khan will now join the Netgear for Business leadership team, aligning with Netgear’s growing focus on end-to-end security for businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
This move follows Netgear’s earlier acquisition of VAAG Systems (Chennai) and reflects its strategy to build a robust software development presence in India. Over the next 12 to 18 months, Netgear plans to hire 100+ engineers, with hiring concentrated in Chennai and Bengaluru.
With AI and cloud-led automation powering its next-gen tools, Netgear is simplifying network setup, automating troubleshooting, and embedding security at the core—helping SMEs scale with confidence and control.
