UTOPIA THERAPEUTICS raises $1.5M seed round to revolutionize obesity treatment

Hyderabad-based biotech startup Utopia Therapeutics has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Whale Tank Biocatalyst. The funds will accelerate preclinical trials for its lead candidate UT009, a next-gen vaccine targeting obesity at the root level.

Founded in 2024 by Uday Saxena and Gopi Kadiyala PhD, Utopia is developing first-of-their-kind metabolic vaccines that move beyond weight loss to improve long-term metabolic health.

With UT009 now progressing toward safety studies and Phase I human trials, the company is also working on its regenerative GRAS-qualified product line (UT018) for broader non-pharma health applications.
