AppDirect, the San Francisco-based B2B commerce platform, has acquired Broker Online Exchange (BOX), a NYC-based developer of a retail energy network. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This move expands AppDirect’s ability to help its partner ecosystem sell, manage, and optimize not just software and connectivity — but now retail energy as well.
BOX connects commercial energy advisors, brokers, and partners with direct access to energy suppliers and markets. Its platform also offers personalized deal support and flexible payment models — helping energy brokers close faster and serve clients better.
With this acquisition, AppDirect is pushing further into multi-industry subscription commerce, adding energy to its ecosystem of over 1,000 providers, 10,000 advisors, and 5M+ subscribers.
For investors tracking the convergence of B2B marketplaces and energy tech, this is a clear signal that verticalization and cross-industry bundling are accelerating.
