Clara Home Care, a San Francisco–based startup modernizing the in-home care experience, has raised $3.1M in seed funding to expand its services across the U.S. The round was led by Torch Capital, Virtue, and Y Combinator, with participation from prominent angel investors.
Led by CEO Jon Levinson, Clara has built an AI-powered care management platform that allows families to hire professional senior caregivers directly — affordably, compliantly, and without the red tape of traditional care agencies.
The platform handles everything end-to-end:
Discovery, background checks, scheduling
Payroll, tax filings, and compliance
AI-based caregiver matching based on skills, availability, and personality fit
On the supply side, Clara is empowering caregivers with flexible hours, better pay, and digital tools to support their work and well-being.
In its first year, Clara has already delivered 15,000+ hours of care in the Bay Area and onboarded 1,500+ vetted caregivers, showing strong early traction in a highly fragmented market.
As the demand for elder care grows, Clara is emerging as the infrastructure layer for modern, relationship-driven home care.
