Pehle Jaisa, a Gurugram-based agritech startup building decentralized waste-to-fertilizer systems, has raised $300,000 in a pre-Series A round led by Pantnagar Capital and Climate Angels.
Founded in 2022 by Pankaj Pandey, Ehtesham Farooqui, Shabih Abbas, Sumit Suman, Wasim Akhtar, and Mantosh Kumar, Pehle Jaisa is creating a self-reliant rural ecosystem by transforming village waste into organic, affordable, and crop-specific fertilizers enabling sustainable agriculture from the ground up.
Impact Highlights:
> Turned village waste into 1,500+ metric tonnes of fertilizer in FY25
> Revenue crossed ₹2.5 Cr, up 3x YoY
> On track to hit ₹100 Cr in revenue through expanded village networks
> Goal: Make every Indian village energy and input self-sufficient
Pehle Jaisa works directly with rural waste centers, eliminating first-mile inefficiencies in traditional agri-input supply chains and making bio-stimulants and soil conditioners accessible to smallholder farmers.
“We’re not just fixing fertilizer supply we’re building circular economies where villages produce their own gas, electricity, and agri-inputs,” said the founding team.
With rising costs, climate pressures, and input dependency threatening rural India’s farm sustainability, Pehle Jaisa is offering a ground-up alternative that’s local, profitable, and green.
