Sanlayan Technologies, a fast-scaling aerospace and defence electronics startup, has raised ₹186 Cr in Series A funding. The round was led by Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, and Jungle Ventures with participation from Gemba Capital, Singularity Ventures, and Shastra VC.
Founded in 2023 by former ZETWERK executives Abhijit Kothawale, Rohan Gala, and @Rahul Vamsidhar, Sanlayan is building mission-critical electronics for India’s strategic programmes — spanning radar, electronic warfare (EW), avionics, and counter-UAS (CUAS) systems.
The fresh capital will be used to increase its engineering headcount 5x in the next 6 months, with a focus on hiring R&D scientists, retired defence professionals, and senior leaders from both government and private aerospace organisations.
In March 2024, Sanlayan also acquired a majority stake in Dexcel Electronics, an ESDM player with experience on marquee programmes like Jaguar, Sukhoi, LCA Tejas, and Chandrayaan-3. The company has since strengthened Dexcel’s design and manufacturing stack to support large-scale indigenisation and upgrade programs.
The team is now doubling down on suo motu development of CUAS and EW technologies, aligned with India's next-gen defence priorities.
